Ballyscullion Park is a beautiful stately home designed in 1840 by Sir Charles Lanyon in the Palazzo style,set in rolling parkland with breathtaking views over Lough Beg to Church Island and the Antrim hills.
The house has large, elegant reception rooms with high ceilings and beautiful plasterwork. A gravel path leads from the house through pleasure grounds and wildflower meadows to the Victorian Walled Garden. The central location 35 minutes from Belfast and 45 minutes form Derry/Londonderry, and half an hour from Coleraine and Cookstown, makes it an ideal venue for visits, weddings and events.

Ballyscullion Park is not open to the public, but is available for visits by groups by arrangement. Visits may include tours of the house and garden, and meals in the dining room. Afternoon teas, wine tastings and cookery demonstrations can be arranged. The Ringrose Room and Stables in the courtyard are large function rooms suitable for exhibitions, lectures and meetings, and for larger parties of up to 96 people for meals.

Tours. Richard Mulholland is an experienced driver-guide for small group tours, and works for Backroads Touring. He also conducts private bespoke tours by arrangement. These include literary, historical, garden tours. Seamus Heaney was a friend and neighbour, and a tour visits many of the local scenes that inspired his poetry. Richard is descended from Jane Austen’s brother, whose daughter Cassandra married Lord George Hill. They lived and are buried in Donegal, as are two of her sisters. The tour visits Donegal and houses in Northern Ireland where their descendants still live.

Weddings take place in the newly-refurbished Ringrose Room and Stables in the 18C courtyard. These rooms open into the Walled gardens which make the perfect romantic backdrop for photographs, with two picturesque summerhouses, and fragrant roses and honeysuckle cascading from the old red-brick walls. Marquee weddings and receptions are held in the Walled Garden.
