Moira Demesne will once again play host to the Speciality Food Fair on Saturday 18th August 2018. Food and drink producers from across Northern Ireland, (many of them multiple award winning), will feature, including Abernethy Butter, Burren Balsamics, Krazi Baker, Corndale Farm, Mike’s Fancy Cheese and Harnett’s Oils to name but a few.
Northern Ireland’s burgeoning food culture will be the hero of the day as visitors can try and buy direct from the producer in the artisan food hall. The Street Food Village area will host some of the finest street food Northern Ireland has to offer with something for all tastes.
There are new features at this year’s event, with an ‘edutainment’ element to family fun as Kitchen Garden Cooks lead the way with morning and afternoon workshops. Also new this year is the Beehive, where the discovery of the fascinating world of bees can begin with a talk on beekeeping, honey tasting, beeswax wrap making and an observation beehive in residence for the day.
The Kitchen Sessions, will feature the most creative chefs from the area, led by award winning chefs, Danni Barry of Clenaghans Restaurant, Chris McGowan of Wine & Brine and Stephen Jeffers of Forestside Cookery School. They will be sharing tips on the taste difference when you eat seasonally and source local produce, as well as masterclasses in current food trends such as foraging and pickling. The popular café bar returns with some new features, so be sure to pop along and soak up the festival vibe, grab a bite to eat in the street food village and sample local craft beers & ciders, unique Moira inspired cocktails, non-alcoholic juices and coffees, all to the backdrop of live music.
