Lissan House Trust is delighted to host A Staged Reading of St Patrick’s Day or The Screaming Lieutenant a hilarious farce in one act by Richard Brinsley Sheridan. When the dashing but devious Lieutenant O’Connor falls for the lovely Lauretta, he must gain approval from her over protective father, Mr Justice Credulous. His various ploys go amiss but fortunately the Justice will prove to be aptly named! Sheridan was born in Dublin in 1751 and is regarded as one of the foremost Dramatists in English Theatre – His ‘School for Scandal’ considered a comedy classic. ST PATRICK’S DAY will be given a staged reading, in the Ballroom at Lissan, and is a not to be missed opportunity to see this rare comedy gem. Once again, Centre Stage Theatre Co bring a top professional cast to Lissan, headed by Derek Lord (remember Derek as the snarling Davy Sneddon in TAKE THE HIGH ROAD?) as the Justice with Roma Tomelty as his eccentric wife, Colin Carnegie.
